Unspoiled. Raw. Enchanting island living. These are the pride of Bantayan Island, Cebu, Philippines.
BANTAYAN ISLAND
Bantayan Island has 3 towns:
-Santa Fe
-Bantayan
-Madridejos
Santa Fe
Santa Fe is a quaint little beach community. Great place to stroll. Take a walk along its long-stretched beach for hours on end. Not as crowded which is perfect.

Batiancila Street
This is where the town’s center of activities happen. Videoke bars. Drinking hole. Diners and restaurants. It is where you can find all the night crawlers. Only a walking distance from the resorts. You can always hail a tricycle, if you're checked in further out.
Tour on a motorcycle.
The best way to appreciate the beauty of this island is to hop onto one of those habal-habal rides and cruise the countryside. Watch the fields roll by as you head from one municipality to the next. Nothing like the wind hitting your face and a little drizzle while speeding along the highway.
Saints Peter & Paul
I wasn’t really expecting an old church in this remote island of Bantayan, much more, two of them. I have the habit of asking the locals if there’s an old church in the area. And I was told, yes, but mentioned only one. The other one, I learned later.
The town of Bantayan has this beautiful rustic tough-looking church standing at the town center. Built from 1839 to 1863. It’s made out of corals and stones endemic to the island. And, it is the oldest parish in Cebu, established in 1580.
